ANSI 57-1 porcelain line post insulator is made and tested as per ANSI C29.7, and this type porcelain insulator also called tie-top line post insulator for its connection way with conductor wire.

ANSI C29.7 is American National Standard for wet process porcelain insulators high voltage line post type. This standard is periodically reviewed for any revisions necessary to keep it current with advancing technology. This standard covers high-voltage line-post-type insulators made of wet-process porcelain and used in the transmission and distribution of electrical energy.

Technical Data

ANSI 57-1 porcelain line post insulator is F neck vertical tie-top line post insulator, the same as classes 57-2 and 57-3. The base threading data is 3/4-10 unified form-special pitch, dia. 0.7077-0.7000, length of engagement 0.875. Top wire groove shall seat a 1-15/16-inch diameter mandrel and side-wire groove shall seat a 1-15/16-inch diameter mandrel.

ANSI 57-1 porcelain tie-top line post insulator is made of good commercial-grade wet-process porcelain. The entire porcelain surface of the insulator, with the exception of a firing surface, shall be glazed. The entire surface shall be relatively free from imperfections.
